Meet Dr Julie Ghaly, Dentist
Dr Julie chose to pursue a career in dentistry as it’s the perfect blend of art and science. She also finds it highly rewarding to improve patients’ smiles and health, which is something she is truly passionate about.
“Even after doing this for 20 years, I still experience the enjoyment and fulfillment from helping patients achieve their most confident smiles and having healthy functional mouths.”
Something else Dr Julie finds rewarding is helping nervous patients. “I love the challenge of taking a highly anxious patient and giving them positive experiences and helping to coach them out of their dental phobias.”
Education and Professional Development
Dr Julie earned a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 2006. To stay abreast of the latest in the field, she takes over 80 hours of continuing education each year. “The requirement is only 20 hours a year, but I thoroughly enjoy the learning and have a constant thirst for acquiring more knowledge.”
Airway-Focused Care for Holistic Health
Dr Julie is an airway-focused dentist who believes that addressing airway health significantly impacts various health conditions and patient outcomes. She also likes to treat her patients with a holistic multi-disciplinary team alongside her to ensure patients feel heard and are seeing like-minded clinicians.
In Her Spare Time
Outside the practice, Dr Julie enjoys travelling with her family. “I have two young boys who love seeing the world and expanding their horizons.” She also enjoys working overseas to help disadvantaged communities and young kids to educate them on better oral health outcomes.
